Understanding 3Roots School Assignments

One of the most common questions I hear from buyers is:

“Why aren’t all homes in 3Roots assigned to the same schools?”

Although 3Roots is one master-planned community, it has two school assignment areas. Depending on where a home is located, students are assigned to different elementary and middle schools before ultimately attending Mira Mesa High School.

Those attendance boundaries were established by San Diego Unified to help balance enrollment as the community continues to grow.

Soom Insight: Two homes on the same street can sometimes have different school assignments. Always verify the specific address before making assumptions.

Current 3Roots School Assignments

While all 3Roots students ultimately attend Mira Mesa High School, elementary and middle school assignments vary depending on a home’s location within the community.

Before You Buy in 3Roots

  • School assignments can change.
  • Always verify using the SDUSD School Finder.
  • MLS listings and builder marketing can occasionally be outdated.
  • School Choice may be available for some families.

As with any home search, I recommend confirming school assignments directly with San Diego Unified before making a purchase decision.
